I Always Knew I Was Going to be Rich

“I always knew I was going to be rich.
I don’t think I ever doubted it for a minute.”

-Warren Buffett-

This is one of my favorite quotes from Warren Buffett. Why? Because it shows the confidence, unwavering belief, and commitment to an idea that he possessed. As you most likely know Warren is now one of the richest people in the world, but it all started in his mind and with his unwavering belief. He knew he’d be rich and it was that simple, there wasn’t anyone who could tell him otherwise. What have you always known?

Unwavering Beliefs
An unwavering belief is what sets apart the “crazy” from the normal. The crazy are the ones who dream, who strive, and who challenge themselves everyday to work towards making their visions a reality. They take the road less traveled, take the leap, and blindly follow their instincts. To those who follow the straight and narrow, they are out of their minds.

Much like a car needs gas to drive down the street, you need an unwavering belief to persist towards your goals and provide fuel for your inner fire. Without this belief the car will swerve off the road and you’ll head in the wrong direction, away from your goals, away from your dreams, and away from your purpose. You’ll get stuck in the traffic jam of life.

What Unwavering Beliefs do you Have?
Can you say with 100% certainty that something will happen in your life? Will you meet your investment goals for the year, will you hit your fitness goals, will you build that successful business, will you follow your dreams, will you buy a one way ticket to change your life?

Many of our biggest obstacles are in our own minds. I’m not stranger to this and deal with it quite often myself. Is this blog good enough? Why would people ever want to read what I have to say? Who am I to build a site about Waikiki? These are just a few questions that occasionally cross my mind. It gets tiring to think like this and shows I need to continue to work on myself, but the best way to continue down the path is to work through it and get back into the zone where I forget about all the what ifs and focus on believing it’s possible.

If you learn to have an unwavering belief you will be able to accomplish your goals and you will be a success at whatever it is you’re shooting for. How do you learn this? By reaffirming everyday that you’re good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it people like you! (if you can tell me where that quote came from I’ll backlink to you on Friday’s roundup 🙂 ). It’s not something you’re going to learn by simply reading this post, but by each day stepping towards your goals, reaffirming your beliefs, and taking action. Each step will concrete your belief just a little bit more as it becomes a reality. If you need someone to tell you you’re good enough, shoot me an email.

We’re all the same really, but those of us who have unwavering beliefs will win, because we constantly persist towards our goals as we believe they are possible. The world is just waiting for you to stand up and follow your unwavering beliefs. Take a lesson from Warren, and simply know that something will happen in your life.

My Unwavering Beliefs
I know this site will be successful, I know I’ll be a published shark photographer, I know I’ll be a performing pianist, and I know you can accomplish your dreams. These are some of my unwavering beliefs.

What have you always known? What are your unwavering beliefs?

Please take a moment to reaffirm your beliefs by physically writing them out and sharing them below.

There are days I k now I’ll make it and the other days, it’s not that I necessarily doubt myself, but my mind is clouded by stress.

I absolutely love that quote.

I have always known I’d leave “the pack” and make my own path.
I know I will “make it”, no matter what.

There, feels good!

Stuart Smalley from SNL. Even though I’m not a fan of Al Franken, the character is very funny.

It’s March 3rd, you should be at least 9.6% done with your monthly goal. Knowing you, I’d bet you are much further than that 🙂

What amazing confidence. I would love to say that I have never doubted that I would become rich – but I am not that strong in myself. I have days where I just want to chuck everything in but I just keep thinking, ‘If I quit now, I will never know how close I really was to making it!’

Thanks for the inspiration!

I found this post very inspirational and worthy of a second read. I agree will all you have said, the difficulty sometimes comes with those horrible negative thoughts.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Warren Buffett isn’t one of the richest people in the world; he is one of the wealthiest people in the world. You totally wrote a post about that!!! I, too, have always known that I am going to be “rich”. I’m not sure how I’m going to get there, but I’m taking small steps every day to make that a reality from taking control of my finances, to carving out a lucrative career path for myself. Next step, hopefully is b-school. Maybe I’m not going be as rich as I’d like, but I know without a doubt, that I’m always… Read more »

Warren Buffet is definitely one of those people who is just plain heads and shoulders above the rest financially. He’s a mutant or something with an extraordinary brain and will. I have not always had an unwavering belief in myself. Not until the last few years. In my mind I have some catching up to do. But I also believe that if I give more than I expect back, that the finance part of it will take care of itself. This requires work, effort, and concentration every day – and it’s not always easy, especially as you get later in… Read more »

The other thing with Warren Buffett is he put what he said into practice from an incredibly young age.

Lots of people say they will be rich. Lots of kids, too. Warren believed it — and then he immediately did something about it. (He owned his first stock at age 11 or similar, and had loads of jobs!)

You’ve already made a start with the Waikiki site. You’re already ahead of 90% of the population who talk but don’t do!

Warren Buffett is my Financial Hero #2 (Benjamin Franklin is my #1), in may ways Warren shadows Benjamin Franklin, even the mischief he got into. Basically, he thought outside of the box, but also walked outside of the box!

Seem like you are pursuing a similar path, but with style! We all wish you luck and are rooting for you!

Someday, you’ll have to post some of your pics of sharks… Maybe in 2 years, after things are flowing very nicely for you?

The power of our thoughts is a point some don’t take very seriously and should.

It becomes easier and more natural to think a certain way the longer we do. One day at a time people. Sometimes it’s even one hour at a time for me.

We will do what we set our hearts and minds to.

Now that would be a tough choice. Hmm, robots are the only ones that don’t have to sleep – I think they have an advantage there. Mutants and wizards would have to make up for it by using bursts of energy that outdid the robots longevity. But wizards will always be what I fall back on regardless. But this would make a great one of those -vs- things that people do on their websites.

I love this post! My biggest challenge in many things has been myself. I have daily affirmations that I read and a vision board up to help me keep my goals and dreams before me. I also know: faith without works is dead! So in addition to reading & believing…I make some sort of step toward the goal/dream. Every day I ask myself, am I doing anything to be a step closer to my goal?

If there is one thing that I have learned is that wealth begins with the proper state of mind. We don’t notice how well our minds create the lives that we live. What we think about, creates the focus for our minds to make that happen.

When Warren Buffett says that he always knew he was going to be rich and didn’t doubt it for a minute, shows us just how our thoughts and beliefs lead to the actions we take to achieve the desired results we want.

Many years ago I began reading a lot of the self-help books and picked up (Zig Zigglar maybe?) the concept of PMA. No, not PMS, PMA- Positive Mental Attitude. During those early years of my career I accomplished more and went further than anyone believed. Due to a couple significant negative experiences including an unexpected divorce I lost faith in possibility. It took years to regain that inner spirit but after having it, losing it and regaining it I cannot agree more. You truly can accomplish what you set your mind to. It may not be easy but it is… Read more »

Hey Ryan,
I’ve read this post over and over. this should be the 6 time i’m reading the post. So, today i decided to leave a note 🙂
For me, i am who i know i am. I know i am rich and wealthy, i presently have all i need, thanks to my mindset. The greatest attractive force on earth is the force generated by our thoughts. And with this mindset, i don’t know what could make me average. Focus and determination is my thing 🙂
