My government forced me and several other people to take an IQ test. I personally find this very disturbing, and feel someone should post something about this online. Don't be surprised if this post gets removed or the website gets taken down though.... I flunked by the way :(

@ Bytta - Wow, that was a very insightful comment, thank you so much! I do agree with you in that some people have the ability to proces more information and have deeper understandings. Even so, with a high IQ you aren't guaranteed success, which is the ironic part. I fear that by scoring a high IQ people assume they are entitled to more and rest on their laurels. Much like a college grad often assumes they are entitled to a job.

Thank you for the luck on my site... I'll keep posting updates along the way.

I think many people misunderstand the virtues of intelligence. In my understanding (and through experience), intelligent people are capable of grasping numerous concepts (new and old) thoroughly and quickly. The depth and breadth of concepts are what challenging them. This skill requires great amount of logic (to process information), memory (to store information), language (to communicate information), inter and intra personal skills (to apply information and decision) and maybe others.
Note that people with higher IQ will have better chance (not guaranteed) to improve their EQ because they are able to grasp the concept of inter-personal and intra-personal skills better and quicker.
These days, the proper IQ tests (with Mensa or psychologists, not the one on the net... they're hacks :)) don't only require your ability to answer questions logically, it also assesses your thinking process (or HOW you think) which I think is more solid than WHAT you think.
So, a lot has happened since IQ test was first introduced. The way they propose a case for you to solve has revolutionised; after all, IQ test and concept are created by intelligent people. And yes, everyone can improve their IQ if they want too... just like anything else in the world, really.

Btw, good luck with the internet travel business, Ryan!
Entrepreneurs are smart people too ;)

@Tracy - I think that in case I'm wrong about this post, it's good that you have the benefit of having the ability to take great test scores! I think IQ tests have their place, but for 99% of people in the world, they simply don't affect their lives and don't have relevance on how well they'll do.

I also hope that your prediction of the future is correct! There will be a post introducing it tomorrow... Should be fun making it and gaining feedback from you and other bloggers as I go. Any help is always appreciated and I thank you for your comments.

Great Post Ryan! I was given an IQ test when I was 8. Apparently I did well because my parents tried to send me to a special school, but I pitched such a fit about leaving my friends and the school we all went to, that they relented. I have since decided that I am just good at tests. It has nothing to do with"smart." I take the tests online and never get the results because I have never been willing to give up my cell phone number, etc, and the truth is I didn't care, I just enjoyed playing with the puzzles. I agree that they don't measure intelligence, they just measure a single skill set and that's not definitive of anything. You can be anything you think you can be as long as you put thought to deed. I really believe this and I do predict a very successful Waikiki site!
