Entrepreneurship

Starting a business can be one of the most fulfilling and fun ventures of your life. From a lemonade stand to a multi-national conglomerate you have the ability to create anything you want.

I’ll be starting several businesses and tracking how I go about it on this blog. This blog is, in fact, a business in itself and down the road we’ll analyze it, but for now, let’s start with another website that I’m building.

Follow along with the Waikiki Travel Site Series in which I’ll build a successful travel niche site before your very eyes.

Got a business idea and want my opinion or want me to test an idea? Shoot me an email as I’d love to hear your idea and promise to keep it confidential.

Hi Ryan!

I love your blog and advice. I need the motivation and tips too succeed in the world of entrepreneurship that you provide! I was laid off in early sept 09′ from a very hard physical labor job that I worked for 9 years (since I was 21yrs old), but all the while I had been working on a couple websites and studying the major players to find out what they did to become a success. After I was laid off, I went to work on my own projects as if it were my 9 to 5 and am now seeing nice results! I now see getting laid off as a blessing and I get to work my passion, it is an absolute win win! I encourage anyone with a dream of being an entrepreneur to WORK YOUR PLAN, even if you dont have enough time like I didn’t, just work at it in pieces. If I hadnt started working my plan in pieces 3 years ago, I would have had nowhere to go after losing my BALL & CHAIN (job), but instead I have turned my unemployment check into my payment for building my business, it sustains me and basically pays me to FINISH building my dream which has already started producing VERY encouraging results! I will keep reading this great blog for more tips and help.

P.S. I absolutely LOVE the article on Minimalism, it was awesome and so true. Later!

Hey Dave,

That’s great that you’re taking the leap into entreprenuership. It’s best to do so if you really enjoy your subject so what do you enjoy most about building an online business?

You’re right about working the plan, one of the hardest things is simply having the vision to see what’s possible and then having the guts to go out and make it a reality. The first step is always the hardest so I’m glad you’ve already taken it.

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you around here more often!

Hey Ryan,

What I enjoy the most about building an online business is the FREEDOM to take my everyday work and actions in the direction that I SEE as most beneficial for me and my own business and welfare! I enjoy calling my own shots, waking up at 4AM to write something that can’t wait til the sun rises and ACTUALLY ENJOYING IT! Your site is already more successful than both of mine combined, but I do enjoy a measure of success with my first and oldest site and it is very fulfilling to reap the benefits of my work for ME and not some employer who could care less about me or my family. Also Ryan, I hauled steel in the mid-west for so long and I knew without a doubt that I was wasting my talent, know I feel like I’m utilizing my gifts and it just feels good(and it’s only the beginning!) I’ve always been a writer, I’ve always enjoyed communication, the English language, always loved literature and reading. Now those things are all encompassing of my days! And it makes money, it is so awesome and empowering! I wish you all the success in the world my friend and keep up the great work, I won’t be a stranger!

Well, what a great offer you put out here. I would love to hear what you would say about the site I have. I think I go over everything that I encounter on my travels and nothing seems to stand out as the niche or topic that would have it be a business. Mostly I started doing it just keep family and friends informed of what I’m doing and where I am.

I have had my own business in the past and would like to find a way to earn something to keep me on the road, and do it online, instead of sitting at a sewing machine. So far I’ve just managed to keep expenses down but not found a way to bring anything in.

We have hooked up with our own mifi and put in solar panels and we can be online almost anytime. I feel this is one step closer, to something.

What I like most about being out here is the finding new places to see and meeting new people. Meeting the people is so great.

I have considered turning out a website about traveling in an RV but that isn’t really what this is all about for me. I would like to bring something together and open it up for earning an income.

This is a rambling of things and I wouldn’t really like it to be published, so if you have anything you could say about what I’m already doing let me know, honestly, tell me what you think. I think I tell myself it’s just for the fun of it,that way when i don’t it makes it just fine, but if I were to be honest I would love to make money doing it.

I just put myself in a seminar about how we relate to money and talking with you here has opened something up for me which I will be able to apply to my findings about myself. Thanks for that too.

I have just read all your postings on the current listings. I see you have been giving advice, no direct directions to how to start a site. Great, thanks, it has brought to my attention that to find a direction is what I’ll be looking for.

Enjoy reading your writing and thoughts. Thanks for putting them out there.

Hey Ryan,
I don’t know if I’ve ever met a more ambitious sounding young person.
It seems that all the young adults these days are so lazy. I’m still under 30 and one of my businesses involves helping others build their own business. It’s amazing how many people will work hard for someone else, but when they’re supposed to be committing time to their own business, they’re watching tv!
Well I don’t know if it’s the air or all the sun in Hawaii, but something’s working for you.

Keep up the good work.
P.S. I added you to our blogroll.

Hey Ryan, I just joined Yakezie and thought I’d drop by and check out your site. I love hearing thoughts from a fellow entrepreneur! Nothing beats workin’ for yourself. I should be doin’ it in Hawaii though…I’ll get there sooner or later.

I’ve subscribed to your RSS as well. Keep up the good vibe! -Geoff

When first starting my business, or “Blog” (which can be a business) I thought it was going to be an easy thing. I heard about all those bloggers who made thousands each month. It takes a lot of hard work to get to where they are! Although, when I complete an article and help someone it’s all worth it.

I’ve been reading alot of blogs and you seem to be really ambitious. There are a good number of people that write something, but they don’t follow through with anything. I like that you are trying to get things done for yourself, while inspiring others. I like that, I’m trying to do the same thing. I just found out about a free opportunity, and I have been e-mailing all my friends and family to let them know. I feel like there’s no fun in getting money while watching other people suffer. That’s just me.

Hey Ryan,
I actually first heard of your blog from Lisa from 2createawebsite.com . She is truely inspirational. I love your blog! It is loaded with alot of useful info. I was wondering if anyone has done what I’m about to do. I am planning on going to college four days a week this fall. I am working on making a fitness blog that is updated with personal fitness equipment reviews and articles that I write about home fitness(how to stay motivated, fitness room, equipment, etc.) . Lisa mentioned that you seen a revenue from your website in a month! That is amazing! Great job by the way. This question is for anyone out there. What would you recommend I should concentrate on to get great traffic and keep a steady income from my site while I am in college? Is there even something I could do off line to make money while I go to college? I only need to make about $250 a week to maintain my home, wife, and children. It seems like that would be easy to do. I tried to find a local job, but none can work my college schedule. Just need some recommendations.

Thanks for your help,
Joshua Berg
